The new range of R wheels alongside the Matériel Vélo team

A story of passion and performance

For several years now, the Matériel Vélo team has been making its mark on French and European roads thanks to a simple philosophy: combine passion, rigour and innovation. In this quest for performance, the choice of equipment is crucial. It was with this in mind that the partnership with Corima, an iconic French brand specialising in carbon wheels, came into being this season.

Corima, founded in 1973 in Loriol-sur-Drôme, has established itself as a key player in top-level cycling. Drawing on its expertise in aeronautics, the brand has always focused on innovation and quality craftsmanship. This partnership with the Matériel Vélo team is therefore a natural meeting of minds between two entities that share the same values of excellence.

The new Corima R range: innovation at the heart of the road

In 2025, Corima is hitting back with the launch of its new R range, a series of wheels designed to meet the most demanding requirements of both professional and amateur cyclists. Comprising three models - 35R, 45R and 62R - this range covers all the needs of a cycling team:

  • 35R: ultra-light (1325g per pair), ideal for mountain stages.
  • 45R: versatile, perfect for rolling and hilly courses.
  • 62R: high profile and aerodynamic, ideal for fast stages and time trials.

These wheels feature :

  • A new, wider rim (30mm outside, 22mm inside) optimised for 28mm tyres.
  • A curved rim profile for better air penetration.
  • Corima's EVO hub with its Ratchet system, which also features high-performance bearings for exceptional smoothness and increased durability.
  • Corima's signature spoking with 20 Sapim CX-Ray spokes with integrated heads.
  • All with a 3K carbon finish and satin varnish.

Clément Cambier, a climber with the Matériel Vélo team, is using the new 35Rs this year. "They're very responsive! On the flat, I don't feel any loss of speed or inertia compared to my old wheels. The work done on the aero gain must have something to do with it, especially the spoke heads which are integrated into the rim. As a specialist in mountain efforts, I've found my ideal pair of wheels!"

For Aurélien Leroy, team manager, the Materiel-velo.com team is racing this year with "high-performance wheels that meet the demands of our riders, particularly on hilly and mountainous courses! The new R range offers optimum performance, and their lightness is ideal as soon as the gradient rises."

Wheels designed for competition... and training

The R range was recently the subject of a glowing article in Top Vélo magazine, which highlighted the lightness, modernity and competitive pricing of these new wheels.

One of the major assets of the Corima R range is its versatility. Designed to meet the demands of top-level cycling, these wheels are not limited to race days. Thanks to their robustness, ride comfort and manoeuvrability, they are perfectly suited to long training rides, even on demanding roads.

For a team like Matériel Vélo.com, made up of semi-professional riders, this dual capability is essential. Athletes need to be able to train with the same equipment they use in competition, to maximise their confidence and efficiency.

A 2025 season already marked by great successes

The Materiel-velo.com team has already won 6 times at the start of the season, including some big-name events. The most convincing results include:

  • Victory in the GF Vosges
  • Victory in the Thierry Claveyrolat
  • Victory in the Motz Chautagne
  • Second place in the Corima Drôme Provençale

These performances testify to the team's growing strength, underpinned by solid cohesion and cutting-edge equipment, particularly the Corima R wheels.

Challenges still ahead!

The season is far from over, and a number of major objectives await the team: La Marmotte Alpes, the Etape du Tour (winner in 2024), the Tour de Savoie Mont-Blanc, where the team's climbers will be competing for their chances of victory.

There will also be the Granfondo European Championships on 15 June.

A forward-looking partnership

The partnership between Matériel Vélo and Corima is more than just a sponsorship contract. It's a real technical synergy, where feedback from riders in the field enables Corima to fine-tune its products.
